Fashion Week in NYC
In case you weren’t aware, our fall fashion futures (say that 5 times fast) are being decided for us in New York City this week at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week extravaganza. News from the Big Apple appears to be metallic, fur, ruffles and denim. Marc Jacobs showed a metallic floral coat while others are trying to bring more metallic into the daytime by showing it with hoodies…really? And a fave, Justin Timberlake, debuted his William Rast collection this week; word is that he was super nervous about this ‘coming out’ too…seems celebrities, too, get awe struck around the design famous. Tonight at 6, Christian Siriano is showing his new fall 2009 line. We love him, not just for Project Runway, but because he’s a hometown hero.

Maloles — New for Spring
Exciting times at BarefootTess.com — the Maloles are coming! If this means nothing to you, trust me, once you see them, it will all become very clear. Synonymous with its must-have ballet flats, Maloles (pronounced malo-les) was established in 2004. Shoe lover Maloles Miracosta-Antignac was inspired to launch her namesake footwear line while working as a stylist for Spanish Vogue. Growing up in Alicante, the heart of Spain’s footwear industry, she often raided her grandmother’s vast collection and ardently browsed flea markets for 1920s tap shoes. Now based in Paris, where she attended the Institut Français de la Mode, Maloles’ gorgeous designs are as comfortable as they are stylish. The fact that BFT has these shoes in large sizes is a coup. You can have a large-sized foot and wear these incredible designer shoes…it’s about time, wouldn’t you say?!

Economic Stimulus for All!
We keep hearing about this ‘package’ and how our lives will be better once it’s approved. Well, all we can say at BFT is, don’t you need a new pair of shoes to go with that? I mean seriously, if we are going to do our parts to stimulate the economy with the $15 a week or whatever it ends up being, added to our paychecks, we need some shoes to celebrate. Yesterday, yes just yesterday, we got in these shoes that provided plenty of needed stimulus…they get the blood flowing because they are so darn CUTE! These are so awesome for spring, in the vibrant colors everyone will be wearing, for sure.

President’s Day: Shop in Celebration
Whether you are lucky enough to be off today or you just take a little longer lunch break than usual, today is a great day to catch some sales. Area department stores’ sales offer the usual fare but there are some online shopping sites that you should probably peruse (from home or office). Everyone is getting ready to stock their shelves with new spring merchandise…so now is the perfect chance to get a break on some of the items you’ve had your eye on. And honestly, barefoottess.com is offering another 15 percent off its already super low prices of thousands of shoes.

Living for the Weekend?
Many of us love Fridays…time to wrap up what we’ve been working on and put our plans into motion for the weekend. Some of you may even have the luxury of a long President’s Day weekend…woo hoo! Lots of sales are generally associated with this holiday too…so great shopping awaits you. If you don’t feel like venturing out to the malls, there’s always online shopping. You know how Tess loves a great online deal! Of course, she makes sure her site is repleat with the best deals…it’s good to be Queen! How about Faryl Robin’s Doobie for $99? Or check this out…Andrea Carrano’s Vegas for $292…sounds a bit steep, but once you see it, you’ll want it. Make this weekend a memorable occasion with a terrific deal on some very sassy shoes. Oh, and you don’t have to keep this sale a secret. We love it when you share this information with your other shoe-crazed friends. In our humble opinion, you can never have too many shoes!

Pinching Pennies

The cutest shoe for spring
Saying to someone before this current economy that you were watching your spending or trying to cut back was almost embarrasing. Now it’s become a badge of honor. Also, now more than ever, it’s cool to find a great sale…and then BRAG to your friends about how little you spent on something. Well, ladies, I challenge you today. February is a tough month for everyone but it’s also a great time to add items to your wardrobe for next to nothing. Great, classic pieces that are truly timeless. Who doesn’t want that? So what’s the challenge? Go out there and spend some money…you’ll be helping the economy, for sure, and adding some FUN to your attire. And if you’ve not done so, please check out the sale section on the BarefootTess.com site…I’m telling you, it’s insanely priced – in a good way. Designer shoes for cost!? Seriously. I wouldn’t steer you wrong. Just having an assortment of shoes from size 10 to size 15 is almost unheard of, but on SALE!!!! Yay for Barefoot Tess. Oh, and make sure to BRAG about all the pennies you saved with BarefootTess.com — you’ll be doing your friends a huge favor.

Large shoes, on sale – thousands of them!
It’s crazy here in my hometown of Baltimore…it’s going to be almost 70 degrees today. Yesterday I mentioned my spring fever and how I’m just hating the shoes in my closet. Well, Ihave a feeling that I am going to be longing for some sexy sandals today…and a pedicure! OOH, what will come first, the pedicure or those sandals I saw on the barefoot tess site? Funny to me to be thinking about a pedicure in February…usually our snowiest of months…but I may just run out today and indulge. Don’t you just love them? Not sure if I’m less girly than most, but I don’t waste the cash on pedicures in the winter…is that wrong? I would love to hear from you all…is it the definition of ’high maintenance’ if you get winter pedicures?

Beat the February blahs!
I don’t know about you, but the promise of spring always makes me feel like buying a new pair of shoes. I look in the closet and just don’t see anything from last season that excites me…I can’t be alone with this sentiment! So I just heard, from a very good, inside source, that barefoottess.com is getting ready to kick a huge sale into play starting tomorrow. Some shoes and boots will be knocked down almost 40%…I kid you not. These are not just last year’s ‘dogs’ they are some super cute stuff. Of the lines going on sale: Sam Edelman, French Sole, Faryl Robin, Butter, Chie Mihara, Loeffler Randall and Dolce Vita. I could go on and on but you need to take a peek and see for yourself.

WWMW (What Would Michelle Wear?)
Seeing the celebs’ sartorial choices during awards season is always fun, but I am much more excited for the inauguration. Why, fair reader? It is not for the bland colors and Hilary pantsuits to be sure. The answer lies in one word: MICHELLE. I just love seeing what she comes up with – she experiments with colors, shapes, and styles, and it is a joy to watch. I also appreciate how she works with her height and size — no easy task, as many readers know. I am wondering what kind of footwear she will be wearing on Tuesday. If my every wish were granted, she would wear Barefoot Tess shoes of course. But what pair? Help me decide!
A. A stylish black peeptoe with unique detailing – elegant and edgy, just like her.
B. A kickass boot to show she’s a woman to be reckoned with.
C. A demure kitten heel to complement her classic pearls and shifts.
